What's Up Sheepdogs? Ryan here with Tampa Carry.
On January 9th of 2021, Phoenix police officers received a phone call of a man fighting with the woman. The 911 caller said that the bad guy, the man, was shooting at random people while holding a small infant hostage.
We've got an irate guest of another guest here chasing ... running around with a gun here. We need somebody ... He's beating up on his old lady.
Van Buren. Hurry up.
Phoenix 911, where is your emergency?
Van Buren. Hurry up. Van Buren and 7th Avenue. My husband just took my baby. He has a gun. He's loaded. He took the baby. He's trying to kill him. He's shooting. He fired. He's shooting [inaudible 00:00:43]. Hurry up. He's trying to shoot. He's going to kill people. He's on 7th Avenue. He's on 7th Avenue, Van Buren. He's shooting cars. He's got my son. He stole my son.
Now, I couldn't even imagine being the mother in this situation, knowing that your husband has just lost his marbles, has your child, and is randomly shooting at people. Now, I want to know what you would do if you were the hotel manager. If you were just another hotel guest and you saw somebody doing this. You had your concealed carry gun, what would you do? Would you get involved? Would you shoot at this bad guy? Which could be very dangerous. You could potentially injure or hurt that little baby. Would you sit back and be an amazing witness? So then this scumbag walked onto the main road and was holding a driver at gunpoint.Phoenix 911. What is the address of your emergency?
I'm on 7th Avenue and Grand, McDonald's in the drive thru and there's this Black man that stopped the white car. He has a gun and he has a baby in his arms.
Okay. Is he pointing the gun at somebody?
Yes, he's pointing the gun at, I guess, somebody using the white car. He stopped the white car in the street and he has a baby in his arms and he has a gun.
They're in the drive thru, he's standing outside of a car, holding a baby and pointing the gun at somebody?
Yes, he is shooting. He's shooting right now.
Now personally, my goal at this point, if I could ambush this guy, if I could sneak up on him, my goal would be to get a good, solid headshot and save that baby. The crappy part is, that baby is going to drop to the ground pretty hard. It's going to get hurt a little bit, but I think it would be more important to stop and neutralize the threat, in my opinion. That baby will get some scratches, but at least the baby will be alive and all these other drivers would be safe.
Now the police arrived one minute after the 911 call and they immediately saw this scumbag in the road, pointing the gun and shooting at people while holding the small child.
Hey. Drop the gun. Drop the gun, dude.
[inaudible 00:02:54] shots fired. 511, he has a kid hostage right now. He has a gun. He has made one gunshot already. We need more units. Block off all traffic. We got a black male with the child.
Dude, put the kid down, man. Stop.
An officer armed with a city issued rifle shot at the suspect when he saw the suspect point the gun at the baby and others. The view of the officer's camera is obstructed due to the doorframe.
[inaudible 00:03:21].
They're on the way.
The suspect was injured and officers immediately ran to the baby and the driver of the white vehicle to move them to safety.
Hold on, hold on, hold on. [inaudible 00:03:36].
Get the kid, get the kid.
Come here, buddy. Come on, buddy. Come on. Come on. I've got the kid, I've got the kid.
Nobody needs an AR-15, right? There's never a logical reason to have an AR 15. But thank God this officer showed up, he had a carbine, and he was able to make a solid precision shot on this scumbag and save that child's life.
Now, this scumbag did die, but the question that I have for you is, what would you do in a situation just like this? I had a group of students in my concealed carry course just the other day that they said to me, "I'm only going to keep my gun at home. I don't need my gun when I go grocery shopping, when I go to eat food. I just don't need it. Bad stuff just doesn't happen around me."
How do you know? Do you think any of these drivers that were on this road and watching this violent incident happening, do you think any of them thought something like this was going to happen? They didn't. We need to be ready at all times because we simply never know when violent, evil people are going to do violent, evil stuff. And for me, I want to be ready.
Conclusion
The big takeaway from this video is that violent things can happen extremely fast. You have a choice, you can either be ready or you can be a victim. Its situations just like this that I carry my firearm 100% of the time I am legally allowed to. If a crazy man decides to freak out in public I need to be able to defend my family.
That's all I have for today. So until next time keep training and stay safe...
