Kids and guns- sensitive subject but a subject that needs to be addressed and talked about. Not talking about issues, does not make them go away. We have three kids ages 11, 9 and 7 and they all know we have guns and not to touch them. Of course we don't leave any out to test that theory because we also understand that kids are unpredictable.

My wife and I have taken the approach to teach our kids about the importance of owning firearms, the sport aspects of it, firearm safety and how to react if they should ever come across an unlocked gun at a friends house. I take my daughter shooting at Wyoming Antelope Club and as soon as my sons mature they will learn to shoot as well.
