By now I’m sure most of you are aware of the tragic kidnapping of Naomi Iron… 
If not, here’s what you need to know… 

On March 12th,  Naomi was sitting in her vehicle in the middle of a Walmart parking lot waiting for a shuttle to pick her up and bring her to work… 

At approximately 5:25 am surveillance footage captured the moments that a strange man…

Began circling her vehicle… 

Similar to the way a hungry wolf watches their prey before launching into the final attack… 

And when the moment was right… 

He approached the driver's side door and ripped it open… 

And forced his way into the vehicle… 

Troy has been charged in the murder, kidnapping and assault of 18-year-old Naomi Irion. (Lyon County Sheriff)

Here Are 7 Things You Can Do To Prevent This From Happening To You: 

Number 1 - You Must Be Aware Of Your Surroundings… 

The wolves are looking for easy prey,  and nothing makes a person more vulnerable than being distracted and not aware of their environment… 

In my book Florida Concealed Carry Shoot or Don't Shoot,  I discussed the three areas of situational awareness; 

1. Visual awareness… 

2. Auditory awareness… 

3. And lastly, keep your head on a swivel… 

If you can master these three things you will be able to identify a potential threat and avoid it before begins… 

Number 2 - You Must Be Aware Of The People Around You… 

Now you're probably thinking that being aware of the people around you is the same thing as situational awareness… 

And I can assure you that it is not. 

Intuitive awareness is the art of analyzing the body language of the people around you in search of signs that an attack is imminent.

Number 3 - You Must Keep Your Doors Locked & Lock Them As Soon As You Enter… 

Just imagine how this situation would have played out if Naomi would have had her car doors locked… 

When the attacker attempted to open the door she would have immediately identified the threat.

And then she could have driven away to a place of safety. 

Number 4 - Keep Your Windows Rolled Up… 

“When I got off the freeway and pulled up to the red light I noticed a homeless man asking for money… 

I like to give a little something to people in need,  so I handed this man a five-dollar bill…

As my head was turned another man pointed a gun through the passage window and demanded all of my money!”

This is a real-life story of my student who was robbed at a red light by a very deceptive group of thugs. 

The mistake my student made was he stopped at a red light with his windows down… 

Making himself a very easy target for robbery. 

Number 5 - Think Ahead… 

It was like a scene out of a horror movie… 

A 30 something-year-old woman was placing groceries in her vehicle and then… 

As she was walking to return the shopping cart… 

Surveillance footage captured the moment that a man entered the vehicle and hid in the back seat. 

Then the woman got into her vehicle and drove away… Moments later the man launched his attack! 

As a good person, you probably spend most of your life thinking about positive stuff like… 

How can I be a better mom or dad? 

Or…

How can I make more money to provide for my family? 

Well,  bad guys are spending every second of the day thinking about ways to steal, kill and destroy. 

We must think like a wolf so that we can avoid becoming a victim… 

Number 6 - Make A Massive Scene… 

If someone is attempting to kidnap you, you need to do everything you can to get everyone’s attention….

Screaming, yelling, and putting up the fight of your life! 

Hopefully, one of two things will happen…

First, the attacker might realize that you are not going to be an easy victim and just give up… 

Or you could attract the attention of a Sheepdog (which I hope is you) who is more than willing to launch into action to protect you. 

Number 7 - Do Not Allow The Attacker To Take You… 

As a father of young children, I constantly talk to them about what to do if someone attempts to kidnap them…. 

One of the biggest mistakes kidnapping victims make is that they don’t put up a big enough fight… 

If you are ever abducted DO NOT allow the kidnapper to take you to the final destination without putting up an intense fight… 

• Grab the steering wheel and jerk it as hard as you can… better to crash than be murdered.

• Shove your finger deep into the attacker's eyes…

• Bite, scratch, and attack the wolf-like a rabid dog… 

Here’s the bottom line, 

Your ability to stop a kidnapping attempt boils down to one thing… 

Giving the kidnapper a good reason to stop… 

And nothing provides a kidnapper with the motivation to stop the attack like a handgun pointed at their chest… 

I know I sound like a broken record but if you truly want to be ready for a violent attack,  you must carry your firearm 100% of the time you are legally allowed to. 

If not, you're just fooling yourself into thinking you’ll be ready…
